Annuale 2014

Mar — Sep 14

Photograph of an art project by Silke Wagner on Odeonsplatz in front of the Feldherrnhalle. The installation is a living monument intended to create the illusion of a sculpture: A series of performers sit and lie in motionless poses on white plinths stacked like pyramids. Their faces show rigid, sad or agonised expressions. The performers are dressed in green-grey costumes that match the verdigris bronze patina of the two generals' sculptures on the left and right in the Feldherrnhalle. Two of the figures in the foreground hold a memorial plaque with the inscription "In memory of the victims of sexual violence during the war". The highest plinth block also bears the word "Anonymous" in capital letters, which is also the title of the art project.

Ludwigstraße

View of a street lamp on Ludwigstraße, photographed from below. As part of an art installation by artist Silke Witzsch, the national flag of Haiti is attached to the street lamp at half height. The flag has been artistically distorted by placing a camouflage pattern over the national flag.

Marienhof

Photograph of an installation by the artist Martin Schmidt. The artist has modelled a crater landscape on an approx. 7 m wide strip of grass on the northern edge of the Marienhof using heaped up and excavated earth. The various craters are overgrown with grass. Benches can be seen on one side of the strip, with plant pots with trees in between. On the other side of the strip, bicycles are leaning against a wooden railing. The houses on Dienerstrasse can be seen in the background.
